Moky Makura
Executive Director
Moky Makura was born in Nigeria, educated in England and has lived in London, Johannesburg and Lagos. She has been a TV presenter, producer, author, publisher and a successful entrepreneur in her own right. She started her media career as the African anchor and field reporter for Carte Blanche. She conceptualized, co-produced and presented a lifestyle TV series for the pan African pay TV channel MNet called Living It, and played a lead role in the groundbreaking Pan-African drama series Jacob’s Cross. Her book Africa’s Greatest Entrepreneurs, with a foreword written by Richard Branson, featured on the top 10 best-selling business books in South Africa when it launched.
Lerato Mogoatlhe
Head of Communications and Digital Marketing
Lerato Mogoatlhe is media professional with more than a decade of experience gained in various roles in leading South African publications, she has also worked at digital agencies with a portfolio of clients who included Facebook, Google and Girl Effect Mobile. She is the author of the critically acclaimed travel memoir, Vagabond: wandering through Africa on faith.
Victor Mark-Onyegbu
Head of Grants and Community Building
Victor Mark-Onyegbu oversees grantmaking and community programming in both the Arts and Culture, digital content and the Media sectors in Africa. He is an honorary doctor of international relations and a 2024 fellow of the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Centre. He brings close to two decades of experience in supporting ANF’s mandate.
Taziona (Taz) Sitamulaho
Project Manager
With her natural coordination and hands-on approach, Taz has over 15 years of experience in corporate and non-profit making organisations. She has worked as a Project Coordinator at Gates Foundation and Project Administrator at Standard Bank, Southern Africa Trust and ActionAid International. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Zambia, and a certificate in project management from Witwatersrand University.
François Bouda
Francophone Desk and Arts & Culture Program Officer
François Bouda has collaborated with international organisations in Africa, Europe and the United States of America, including the Permanent Mission of la Francophonie to the UN in New York, Art Moves Africa (AMA) and Africalia. He co-authored and authored several studies, including the Note on the Critical Analysis of Developments in the ACP Group’s Cultural Strategies and has led AMA’s study on cultural mobility and touring in West Africa. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anglophone Studies, a Master’s degree in Arts Management, and a European Diploma in Arts Projects Management from the Marcel Hicter Foundation.
Cheryl Nyakundi
Project Coordinator
Cheryl Nyakundi supports impactful initiatives by working with creatives and partner organizations. Her background spans government, law firms, and now the nonprofit sector. Having navigated various settings, she is driven by her enthusiasm for positive change in the continent and beyond.
Grace Njeri
Partnerships Lead
Grace Njeri is a creative, storyteller, and strategist with over a decade of experience as a journalist and media expert. She builds connections and partnerships while bringing storytelling into projects.
Margaret Janes-Lucas
Chief Operating Officer
Margaret (Maggie) Janes-Lucas is the Chief Operating Officer of Africa No Filter, leading organizational strategy, operations, and systems that strengthen the institution’s ability to shift harmful narratives about Africa. She has more than two decades of experience in non-profit leadership across Africa and in the USA, with deep expertise in strategic operations, governance, grant-making, and multi-country team management. She has held senior roles with the Tony Blair Institute, Mercy Corps, and USAID.
Chido Dandajena
Community Building Lead
Chido Dandajena is a seasoned community strategist with proven skills in member retention, renewals, and a proven track record of increasing member engagement. Chido considers herself a lifelong learner in an evolving industry. She has connected entrepreneurs, c-suite executives, and thought leaders globally for eight years.
Levi Mulei
Chief Financial Officer
At Africa No Filter, Levi Mulei provides strategic leadership across finance and related operations in support of the organisation’s mission to shift harmful narratives about Africa. He oversees financial strategy, risk management, compliance, and systems strengthening, ensuring sound stewardship of resources and long-term institutional sustainability. Levi brings extensive experience from global and regional contexts. He is currently pursuing a PhD and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Tope Sanni
Program Manager
Tope Sanni is a seasoned program manager and strategist with expertise in storytelling, creative development, film and festival programming, and cultural leadership across Africa. She has designed and led initiatives that use narrative to shift perceptions, influence behavior, and amplify African voices globally. Prior to joining Africa No Filter, Tope worked with cultural institutions, development organizations, and creative sector leaders to strengthen Africa’s creative economy through strategic communications, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, content strategy, digital tools and technology, marketing, and project leadership, including the design and delivery of festival-based programs and convenings.
Essé Dabla-Attikpo
Program Manager
Essé “Essenam” Dabla-Attikpo is an independent art consultant and curator, with over a decade of experience in the Arts and Cultural sector in West Africa and in the Diaspora. She is currently the Program Manager for the Ford Work Reimagine StoryLab program.
Olendo Obondo
Digital Lead
Olendo Obondo is a lawyer, feminist, and Pan-African advocate for social justice who has worked at the intersection of law, tech, policy, health, human rights, and narrative change. As Digital Lead at Africa No Filter, Olendo drives strategies that amplify authentic African voices and reshape perceptions of the continent. Her experience spans rights-based advocacy at and leading international campaigns and projects in the non-profit sector. Rooted in Pan-Africanism, Olendo champions storytelling that centers dignity, agency, and truth, envisioning an Africa unapologetically itself- where narratives, systems, and futures reflect African values and dreams.
Nyokabi Waweru
Grants Administrator
Nyokabi Waweru oversees grants administration and grants operations, ensuring effective management of grant processes and compliance. She is a seasoned grants professional, and brings over a decade of experience gained from diverse roles supporting grants operations and budget management within development programmes.
Faith Koli
Program Manager
Faith Koli’s career spans over two decades of Film and V Production and project management in Africa and the Middle East. Her wealth of experience in creating Faith-Based Media for East African audiences has seen her helm our Faith Based project as the program Manager.
Eze Agwu
Viisual Lead
Eze Agwu is a multidisciplinary creative designer with over two decades of experience spanning the media, management education, and advocacy sectors. As the Visual Design Lead at Africa No Filter, he brings a wealth of expertise drawn from his work with organisations such as Tell Magazine, StarTimes, and the prestigious Lagos Business School, contributing to efforts that reshape narratives about Africa and within the continent. A self-described “possibilitarian”with a deep belief in Nigeria and Africa’s creative industry, he channels his passion beyond design into building software applications aimed at helping African entrepreneurs work from a place of rest and efficiency.
Yva Darius
Project Administrator
Yva Darius supports partnership projects focused on gender norms and faith-based engagement where her work sits at the intersection of coordination, collaboration, and narrative change; contributing to initiatives that challenge harmful stereotypes and reshape how Africa and Africans are represented globally. She holds a BBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast and brings a people-first, systems-aware approach to project support. She has contributed to advocacy and narrative-shifting initiatives, including campaigns engaging global institutions, research-driven storytelling projects, and multi-stakeholder collaborations across Africa and the diaspora.
